Please note: Lorraine’s will attempt to schedule you according to your requirements and availability, and according to the facilities’ needs. Requests to volunteer in the very short term may not always be possible, as the facility must plan ahead and schedule teams regularly. If you would like to be added to our “reinforcements” list, please indicate such under the type of volunteering you are interested in.

Volunteers Needed

 

Food Pantry: Sorting, stocking shelves and repacking foods.
Approximate hours: 9am – 2pm (as needed)

Housekeeping: Sweeping/mopping floors, dining room setup and clean bathrooms.
Approximate hours: 9am – 2pm (as needed)

Soup Kitchen: Cooking and food preparation.
Approximate hours: 2pm – 4pm (as needed)

Soup Kitchen: Serving dinner, washing dishes, dining room and kitchen clean up.
Approximate hours: 4pm – 6:45pm (as needed)

Soup Kitchen Reinforcements: On-call when soup kitchen is notified that a regularly scheduled team is short handed. Attempt will be made to give at least a 24 hour notice.

Skilled Volunteers Needed

 

Database Manager: Do you have MS Access knowledge? We’re seeking someone to manage our donor database and print Board of Director reports as needed.

Grant Writer: We’re seeking an individual to assist Lorraine’s with grant writing, grant applications and fundraising.

Public Relations / Media: Do you have public relations skills? We need someone who can handle publicity, press releases, and media contact for our many events and news stories.

Inventory Specialist: We are looking for someone with inventory management skills to assist us with storage, rotation and supply.

Cooks and Servers: Would you like to volunteer to cook or serve at Lorraine’s right away? Is your organization interested in hosting a soup kitchen food drive?
